A large portion of it was just going over statistics and trying to scare us with them. Apparently, our area has the most accidents and accident-related deaths in practically the entire nation, which is a bit frightening. I actually had no idea that we had to study for this class, though a lot of friends assure me that it's the most boring and easiest class I'll ever take. However, they said that the law test would be easy, and I failed that over, and over, and over again. I really don't want to fail this class and take it again.
They did make us watch one of "those driver's ed. videos," with the Australian girls driving and texting, and then they get into a three-car accident and the driver who was texting is the only one still alive. It was pretty scary (I either am scaring you or reminding you, depending on your age lol). I'm not big on texting anyways, but I don't see how people will seriously do stuff like that. Like, my mom actually waits to get into the car and drive before she makes a phone call. Oy, I really don't want to die in a car crash.
What did you think about your driver's ed. class? What do you think about today's drivers?

The classroom portion of it that I took last year was fine. The material was really easy and my teacher always had me go to the mail room and put the tests through the Scantron machine. This probably sounds sad, but that was one of my favorite moments of high school. That was when they did all the scaring. They make it seem like they never want you to drive. Ever.
The driving portion was another story. I took it at the beginning of summer and cried almost every day when I left the car. My instructor was a monster.
But I passed my test a month later and have my license. It was fairly easy at the DMV I went to.

A lot of the ads here are pretty effective in freaking me out. :P Sometimes I think it would just be better not to drive at all.
I didn't really enjoy driving though, and my mum didn't want to pay for a professional teacher. She'd rather teach me when she has the time.

I used to text a lot when I first started driving, now, not so much. I think adults exaggerate it (especially those videos). I don't think it's as bad as they say, so long as people are responsible and cautious about it, you know?
I told you in my last comment what I thought about my driver's ed class. In NJ, there were like 4 different versions of the test and I had the 2nd easiest one so that's probably why I did so well, lol. Good luck on your test when you take it though! A lot of today's drivers are SO DUMB. You'll see when you actually start driving and get used to it. Like, do they really give out licenses to just about anyone? Haha. This is why I hate driving!
