Reflection Effect

Making a 'reflection' in Photoshop is an effective and easy thing to do. Here, I'll create a downward reflection for my image.
Step 1
Open your image in Photoshop.

Step 2
Select the part you would like to have a reflection for. Here, I selected the text with a bit of white underneath it.

Step 3
Go down to edit >> copy.

Step 4
Go down to edit >> paste.

Step 5
A new layer should appear (Layer 1). While on this layer, select everything for the reflection.

Step 6
Go down to edit >> free transform.

Step 7
Using the arrows and centering dot, position your layer to however you'd like it. I pulled the top down under the bottom for the mirror effect.

Step 8
When you are done, click on any sidebar button and a pop-up will show. Click 'Apply.' Your reflection has been created!

Step 9
You can stop here, but I'd like to make my reflection lighter so that it looks like glass. While on the reflection layer, I pull the transparency (opacity) down to 50%.

Step 10
Finished! You may add any effects you'd like to the reflection, but I'll stop here.

Enjoy your new image! If you have any more questions or comments, feel free to contact me here.
